PacketScout Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026
PacketScout LLC collects the information below when you visit packetscout.net, rent a Survey Kit or hire us for survey work. If anything here is unclear, email us at [email protected].
1. What We Collect
- Contact and order details. Your name, company, email, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, and what you ordered.
- Payment details. You enter your card on a form run by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe may keep your card on file so we can place the equipment hold described in our Terms of Service.
- Identity verification. Survey Kit rentals require an ID check run by Didit. You take a photo of your ID and a short selfie video, and Didit compares the two. Didit also looks at the IP address and device you use. We get the result back (approved, declined or in review). We do not store your ID images or face data.
- Files. Floor plans and other files you upload, and the reports we deliver to you.
- Messages. Anything you send us through our forms or by email.
- Site visits. The pages you view, your browser and device, your IP address and your approximate location. Google Analytics collects this. Cloudflare and our web host also log your IP address.
2. How We Use It
- To process your order, ship the equipment and track its return.
- To place and release the equipment hold, and to charge for damage or late returns as the Terms of Service describe.
- To confirm who is renting our equipment and that the order comes from the United States. We check your billing country and the location of your IP address.
- To deliver your reports and keep your files with your account.
- To answer your questions and email you about your orders.
- To keep the site secure and see which pages people use.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
3. Companies We Work With
These companies handle parts of the work for us:
- Stripe processes payments and equipment holds.
- Didit runs identity verification.
- Shippo and UPS receive your name, address, phone number and email to print shipping labels and track packages.
- Google stores files and reports in PacketScout’s Google Drive and runs Google Analytics.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the website, delivers its pages and checks that form submissions come from real people.
- Our web host and email provider store the website, customer accounts and our email.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to recover our equipment when a kit is not returned.
4. Google Drive
Our website connects to one Google account: PacketScout’s own Google Drive. We use that connection only to keep the files you upload and the reports we deliver in a folder for your account. We do not pass those files to any other company, and the site never asks for access to your Google account. PacketScout’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Cookies
The site uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, block spam on our forms and count visits through Google Analytics. You can block cookies in your browser, but then you cannot sign in or check out. The site does not respond to Do Not Track signals. Google Analytics may collect information about your visits to our site and to other sites over time.
6. How Long We Keep It
We keep order and payment records as long as we need them for taxes and bookkeeping. The ID check result stays with your order. Your files and reports stay with your account until you ask us to remove them. Didit keeps verification data under its own privacy policy.
7. Your Choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will answer within 30 days. We may keep records the law requires, such as completed orders.
8. Security
Card numbers go straight to Stripe and never pass through our servers. The site runs over HTTPS. Only PacketScout staff and the companies in section 3 can see customer records. If we learn that your information was exposed, we will tell you.
9. Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to This Policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use information we already have, we will email our customers before it takes effect.
